In our latest report you could read about our new partner ALOHA. SDYF has begun to help this foundation by supporting ALOHA’s local sports leader.

Founder of SDYF Maarten de Kruijf knows ALOHA’s local sport leader very well. Maarten worked with him during his stay in Brazil a few years back. Wilkison used to work for years at ARCA. As you could read in our reports from 2014 you know that ARCA stopped most of their work. Because of this Wilkison got unemployed. When Rolf founded ALOHA he immediately took Wilkison with him. Because ALOHA is a new foundation, SDYF likes to help ALOHA by supporting Wilkison with a monthly salary. Hopefully in the future ALOHA can afford to pay him themselves.

Every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 he gives English lessons. At 9.30 he teaches different sport activities on the beach: football, relay races, American flag football, kite surfing. Around 10:30 the kids get a meal and a drink. In the afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wilkison teaches his program again to other kids.

Additionally Wilkison does the shopping, buys food and drinks. He keeps the attendance list during the whole week. He also does this for the ALOHA groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Besides the ALOHA project there is also ALOHA Kite boarding. Wilkison is responsible for the implementation of the kite lessons, but also the marketing. He has been in several hotels along and around Cumbuco to advertise ALOHA kiteboarding.
